7.7 MILES 236 FT ELEV PAVED
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, known as the city of bridges, is starting to be known as a city with a growing bike network!
With hilly topography, narrow streets and 90 distinct neighborhoods, Pittsburgh offers an unforgettable experience for the bicycling visitor. The implementation of the Bike(+) Plan introduced 50 new miles of bikeways, including “neighborways” — traffic-calmed streets that take advantage of Pittsburgh’s compact infrastructure. Our 2 Days on 2 Wheels adventure takes us through new and existing bike infrastructure throughout the Steel City.
" It is absolutely gorgeous. It really makes bike riding come alive here. People who ride see just how exhilarating it is, and how fun it is. There are different types of infrastructure for everyone, from car free trails, to protected bike lanes, traffic calmed neighborways, to just regular bike lanes. There are more and more people riding everyday. So you are going to feel part of a community by riding a bike."
