3.5 MILES 335 FT ELEV PAVED
Day two of our 2 Days on 2 Wheels journey in Pittsburgh explores Oakland, a neighborhood full of universities, museums, shopping districts and parks.
With plenty of college students and multiple protected bike lanes, Oakland is a fantastic place to take a leisurely ride on two wheels while also taking in some knowledge. Today we will visit the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Art, the Cathedral of Learning, Phipps Conservatory and more!
" Bikes are like a salad. You are not going to eat a salad for every single meal, just like you are probably not going to take a bike for every single trip, but the more you do each of those things the healthier you are, and in the instance of bikes, the healthier our city is. The improvement to our air quality, the reduction in our congestion and the feeling of joy that so many people have when they are able to be out in the fresh air riding their bikes, walking and enjoying our city."
— Kim Lucas, City of Pittsburgh
