DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE + PROVIDENCE RIVER
16 MILES 427 FT ELEV PAVED
Welcome back for our second day of 2 Days on 2 Wheels exploring Providence, Rhode Island! Today’s ride features a whole lot of amazing pedaling on Providence’s recreational bike paths.
Today we will explore the East Bay Bike Path, the first multi-town bike path built in Rhode Island. We will also visit the Van Leesten Memorial Bridge, the Olneyville River Greenway, the Steel Yard and Riffraff Bookstore, enjoying delicious food from Hot Club and El Ninja.
" The urban trails are a little different than a typical bike lane because they are more inclusive of multiple modes of transportation that one might be taking. Whether you are walking, running, riding a bike, roller skating, skateboarding, whatever it is, these trails are meant to be suitable for all of those activities. They are meant to be friendly for people of all ages and abilities. They are wide enough to accommodate that social biking component that you don't get with a traditional bike lane."
